The Los Angeles Kings announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with forward Martin Chromiak, inking the 23‑year‑old to a one‑year, two‑way contract that guarantees $850,000 per season through the 2026‑27 campaign.
A breakout year in the AHL
Chromiak’s most recent campaign with the Ontario Reign marked a personal best, as he posted 28 goals and 28 assists for a total of 56 points, surpassing his previous career highs. His 12 power‑play goals topped the team, while his seven game‑winning strikes proved decisive in several close contests.
The Kings originally drafted Chromiak in the fifth round, 128th overall, during the 2020 NHL Draft, and he has since accumulated 155 points over 267 AHL appearances, having previously logged stints with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL and HC Dukla Trenčín in the Slovak Extraliga.
Internationally, the Slovakian native has represented his country at five IIHF tournaments, including three senior World Championships and a junior world event, gaining valuable experience on the global stage.
Strategic fit for the Kings
The contract offers the club flexibility to deploy the forward in both the NHL and AHL depending on lineup requirements, providing depth while maintaining salary‑cap efficiency.
Chromiak’s signing comes as the Kings continue to build around a core that includes veteran talent while scouting emerging prospects, aiming to remain competitive in the Pacific Division.
