A Milestone in the Making
The Knoxville baseball team stepped onto the field for its first State Tournament appearance since 2010, a milestone that sparked excitement across the community.
Unlike the 2010 squad, none of the current players or coaches had experienced the tournament before, giving the event a fresh sense of anticipation.
Playing at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the squad soaked in the atmosphere, creating moments that will linger long after the final out.
Coach Devore recalled the team’s off‑field bonding, from late‑night pizza runs at Pizza Ranch to pool games in the hotel, highlighting the camaraderie that defined the run.
For the coaching staff, the tournament was uncharted territory; their first taste of the state stage added a layer of personal pride to the collective achievement.
The team closed the season with a 24‑9 record, a testament to their resilience and a promising foundation for future campaigns.
