Kobe Davis Takes the Helm of Lady Cougars Basketball
Middle Tennessee Christian School announced the appointment of Kobe Davis as its new girls basketball coach, entrusting the program to a coach whose career has been defined by a blend of athletic experience and a commitment to spiritual growth.
Davis succeeds Shala Ferrell, who guided the Lady Cougars to a 26‑6 season and a district championship before stepping down, leaving big shoes to fill.
In his introductory remarks, Davis said the program will be built on three pillars — faith, character, and purpose — aiming to develop student‑athletes who excel both on the court and in their personal lives.
A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Davis played high school basketball there before continuing his career at Harding University, where he earned a reputation as a disciplined and strategic player.
His coaching journey includes three years as an assistant at Nashville Christian, where he helped the team to a 19‑13 record and a run to the DII‑A state round of 12, and stints overseeing middle‑school golf, baseball, volleyball and girls basketball programs.
Jason Piercey, the school’s athletic director, praised Davis for his passion and unwavering commitment to excellence, noting that his diverse background equips him to mentor a wide range of athletes.
Davis will be the third girls basketball coach at MTCS in as many years, a turnover that reflects both the rapid growth of the program and the school’s ambition to sustain a competitive, values‑driven team.
