Kobe Haynes Commits to TCU, Cementing 2027 Class Coup

The versatile Texas standout chooses the Horned Frogs over Stanford and Baylor, rising as the top recruit of his class.

A Versatile Threat Emerges

Kobe Haynes, a three‑star wide receiver from Whitney High School in Texas, announced his commitment to TCU on Thursday, securing the top spot in the 2027 recruiting class.

During his junior year he compiled 3,552 all‑purpose yards, showcasing a rare blend of arm, legs and hands — throwing for 1,474 yards and 15 touchdowns, rushing for 1,438 yards and 23 scores, and catching 40 passes for 680 yards and seven touchdowns.

The decision followed a whirlwind recruitment cycle that featured an official visit to TCU in late May and competing offers from Stanford and Baylor, both of which he chose to decline.

Haynes’s pledge is poised to reinforce the Horned Frogs’ offense, adding a player who can line up at quarterback in spread formations, run routes as a receiver and contribute in the backfield.

Coach Gary Patterson praised the recruit’s athleticism and work ethic, noting that Haynes will join a program that has consistently turned top talent into national contenders.
