The Fort Wayne Komets are shaping their lineup for the 2026‑27 campaign with two new additions that promise to add depth and versatility.
A Familiar Face Returns
Drake Rymsha, a 27‑year‑old forward who previously wore the Komets’ sweater in three separate spells, is set to return for a fourth stint. His résumé includes a 58‑point season in 2022‑23, a 17‑point showing in 24 games with Ontario of the American Hockey League, and a brief NHL appearance with the Los Angeles Kings. In his most recent full season with the Komets he recorded 18 points in 11 games, underscoring his ability to contribute offensively when called upon.
Joining him is 22‑year‑old Josh Davies, who arrives after a season split between Savannah and Atlanta and a stint with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. Davies brings a physical edge, having logged 359 penalty minutes over 204 Western Hockey League games before turning professional.
Coach and management believe the pair will provide a balanced mix of skill and grit, positioning the Komets to compete more fiercely in the upcoming schedule. Their integration will be closely watched as the team looks to build on last season’s progress.
