Kuehne+Nagel has announced the renewal of its three‑year agreement with FIBA, retaining the role of Official Global Logistics Supplier for the international basketball federation.
The extension builds on a collaboration that began in 2023, during which the two organisations streamlined supply chains for major competitions and introduced measures to cut FIBA’s carbon emissions across its worldwide operations.
As part of the renewed deal, Kuehne+Nagel will oversee logistics for the forthcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup editions in Germany in 2024 and Qatar in 2025, ensuring that teams, equipment and fans experience a seamless travel and delivery process.
The partnership also extends to assisting National Federations, Local Organising Committees and the FIBA Foundation, providing logistical expertise that supports grassroots development and the broader basketball ecosystem.
Sustainability at the Core of the Partnership
Frank Leenders, a senior executive at Kuehne+Nagel, highlighted that the renewed contract reflects a long‑term vision where efficient logistics and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
Jorn Schneemann, representing FIBA, underscored the value of Kuehne+Nagel’s expertise, noting that the company’s proven track record in delivering world‑class logistics for international sporting events will continue to elevate FIBA’s operational standards.
