The Knights of Kuemper Catholic are gearing up to protect the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 2A title they captured in 2025, a triumph that set the stage for an ambitious 2026 campaign.
Their season will open with a road trip to Cherokee Washington, a venue that promises early tests against a competitive opponent.
After the departure of former quarterback Brock Badding, the offense will be anchored by Taylen Alford, who is expected to take the snap under center, while running back Jarin Hoffman brings a proven track record of 1,671 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns from the previous season.
Defensive Dominance
On the defensive side, Lucas Diehl returns after a standout year in which he recorded 76 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 14 quarterback sacks, while Griffin Glynn adds depth with 56 receptions for 1,013 yards and 11 touchdowns. The unit as a whole posted 93 tackles for loss and 55 quarterback sacks, underscoring its relentless pressure.
The Knights also excelled in the return game, producing four touchdowns that could prove decisive in tight contests as they chase another championship.
