A surprise swap in the No. 1 Chevrolet
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will see Carson Kvapil step into the flagship No. 1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports at Dover, taking over from Connor Zilisch for that particular event.
Zilisch has earned a reputation for excelling on road‑course layouts in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, a skill that secured him the No. 1 ride earlier in the season after a strong performance at Watkins Glen.
Kvapil, who has been sharing the car with Zilisch throughout the year, is now the primary driver of the No. 1 entry and retains his full‑time schedule, while also occasionally piloting the No. 9 Chevrolet for the team.
Spire Motorsports, which did not field Zilisch’s Craftsman Truck Series entry for Dover, has decided to add the ride for the Charlotte weekend, with Shane van Gisbergen slated to drive the No. 71 Chevrolet.
The upcoming Charlotte race will be streamed on FuboTV, and fans looking to place wagers can do so through BetRivers, both of which have partnered with the series this year.
With the lineup changes generating buzz, analysts expect a competitive finish at Dover, especially as Kvapil aims to capitalize on the momentum built alongside his teammate Zilisch’s road‑course pedigree.
