Kye Crimm, the quarterback for South Lamar High School, entered his junior year with high hopes, only to face a setback that would test his resolve.
A partially torn right ACL forced him to miss roughly six weeks of play, watching his teammates battle from the sidelines as the Stallions struggled to find rhythm early in the season.
By the time the playoffs arrived, the team had turned a corner, winning three straight region games to clinch a postseason berth, and Crimm was fully cleared to return for his senior campaign.
Leadership Beyond the Gridiron
Now back at full strength, Crimm not only leads the offense but also showcases his versatility as a three‑sport athlete, excelling in basketball and baseball while maintaining a competitive spirit across all seasons.
Coach Clay Gilliam has repeatedly praised the senior’s leadership, noting that his competitive drive in practice sets a standard for the entire squad.
Crimm says he wants to leave everything on the field, aiming to be remembered not just for his stats but for the example he sets as a resilient, hardworking student‑athlete.
