A New Era for Warsaw Basketball
Warsaw has announced Kyle Hartman as its new girls basketball coach, filling the vacancy left by Lenny Krebs, who retired after nine seasons with the Tigers.
Hartman arrives after a three‑year stint at Fairfield, where he compiled a 60‑18 record and guided the Falcons to the 2A Semi‑State tournament this past spring.
The school board is expected to approve the hire on Monday, marking the next step in a transition that has been closely watched by players, parents and alumni.
In a statement, Hartman said he is eager to build on Warsaw’s rich basketball tradition and to continue the community’s commitment to excellence on the court.
Before his head‑coaching role, Hartman served as an assistant on the boys program and gained experience as a junior‑varsity coach at South Bend Riley and with the Saint Joseph C team.
His appointment underscores a desire for continuity, as Hartman expressed confidence that his familiarity with the region’s talent pool will help sustain the program’s momentum.
