Kyle Horde Emerges as Dual‑Threat Star for Westminster Christian Academy‑Opelousas

The senior linebacker‑running back is drawing Division I interest after a breakout season

Kyle Horde, a senior at Westminster Christian Academy‑Opelousas, is quickly becoming one of the most talked‑about two‑way players in Louisiana high school football. His blend of linebacker tenacity and running back explosiveness has turned heads across the state.

After a season that saw him record 116 total tackles, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles and an interception on defense, Horde also rushed for nearly 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns on offense. Those numbers have helped put his small 1A program on the radar of college recruiters.

A Dual‑Threat on the Rise

The senior’s performance earned him his first Division I offer from McNeese, and he has since added offers from Houston and UTSA, among other programs. The influx of scholarship opportunities reflects a growing confidence in his ability to compete at the next level.

Coach Bryon Porter has praised Horde’s impact, noting that the player’s success has opened doors for teammates who might otherwise have gone unnoticed. "Kyle’s achievements have given other players opportunities to be seen by recruiters," Porter said.

Looking ahead, Horde hopes to be the first of many Division I prospects to emerge from Westminster Christian Academy‑Opelousas. He sees his journey as a catalyst for a new era of talent development at his school.
