The game was decided in the signature Elam ending, a sudden‑death overtime variant where the first team to reach a target score claims victory. La Familia surged ahead 12-5 in that decisive stretch, turning a tight contest into a narrow win.

Archie Goodwin was the catalyst for La Familia, pouring in 30 points and steering his squad through the final minutes. For Boeheim's Army, the scoring load was shared, with Ty Nichols leading the way at 24 points, while Elijah Hughes added 16 and Buddy Boeheim contributed 14.
