Furuhashi began his professional career in his native Japan with Vissel Kobe before making a high‑profile move to Europe. After stints in France with Stade Rennes and Scotland with Celtic FC, where he captured the 2022‑23 Scottish Premiership Golden Boot, he spent three seasons in the English Championship with Birmingham City.
His European résumé includes nine domestic titles and a prolific scoring record: 154 career goals and 55 assists across 384 appearances for club and country. Internationally, he has contributed five goals in 23 caps for the Japan national team.
