The Russell County Lady Lakers delivered a pair of dominant shutout victories over Casey County on Thursday, extending their unbeaten streak in the process.
In the varsity match, Addison Coffey opened the scoring with two goals, while Carly Shearer, Roselyn Fuentes, Madison Bennett, Kambyr Bradshaw and Mercedez Sanchez each added a marker.
Madison Bennett contributed two assists, and goaltender Bella Blakey turned away nine shots, with Aubrey Farmer chipping in four saves.
Junior varsity firepower
The junior varsity squad also impressed, as Makenzie Bennett netted four goals and Ava McFarland struck once, while Kelsey Roy and McFarland each logged an assist.
Vonzie Hill earned six saves in goal for the JV side.
Coach Cheryl Newby’s varsity team will travel to face Campbellsville in a non‑conference clash on Saturday at 11 a.m., a match that could further test the squad’s depth.
