Lafayette’s men’s soccer team posted a hard-fought 3-2 win over Binghamton on Tuesday, snapping a busy stretch that included three games in seven days.
The Bearcats drew first blood in the opening 22 minutes, as Noah Amankulor and Roy Biegon combined for a 2-0 lead that set the tone early.
Lafayette answered before halftime when sophomore forward Henry Topp found the net in the 41st minute, his maiden collegiate goal narrowing the gap to 2-1.
The momentum shifted again in the second half when senior forward Anthony Randazzo struck for his 11th career tally, leveling the score and sparking a surge.
Late Drama
Binghamton reclaimed the lead at 68 minutes through a converted penalty by Samir Dishnica, pushing the score to 3-1, but Lafayette’s defense held firm.
Harrison Wolfrom, between the posts for Lafayette, made four crucial saves to keep the Bearcats at bay, while the Leopards outshot their opponents 13-4 overall.
Despite Binghamton holding a slight edge in possession (52% to 48%) and shots on goal (6-4), Lafayette’s late push secured the three points, marking a pivotal win in their early season schedule.
