Lajos Zadravecz Takes the Helm of Southern Boone Boys Soccer

A former Eagle goalkeeper returns to lead the program with a defense‑first philosophy

Lajos Zadravecz has been named the new head coach of the Southern Boone High School boys soccer team, taking the reins after two seasons serving as an assistant for both the boys and girls programs.

A Defense‑First Philosophy

His vision for the Eagles centers on a disciplined, defense‑first style that emphasizes accountability, respect and competitive intensity.

Zadravecz draws on his experience as a goalkeeper at Southwest Baptist University, where he posted 225 career saves and ranked fourth in program history, to shape a defensive mindset.

Southern Boone Activities Director Trent Tracy praised the appointment, highlighting Zadravecz’s leadership, enthusiasm and the energy he will bring to the program and its athletes.

The transition from former head coach Wade Vandelicht, who will continue to lead the girls soccer team, is already underway as the Eagles prepare for their first season under Zadravecz’s guidance, with competition slated to begin in late August.
