The Lake Blue Streaks are gearing up for a promising 2026 campaign, blending a strong senior class with a wave of underclass talent that promises versatility on both sides of the ball.
A Revamped Roster
Senior Ty DeGeorge returns as a multi‑position playmaker, having logged ten touchdowns last season despite an ankle injury, and will now see time at quarterback, receiver and defensive back. Alongside him, senior linebacker Shannon Billiter will anchor the defense while also contributing as a running back, and three‑year starter Aaron Mitchell will continue to wreak havoc from the defensive end spot, having posted 63 tackles, 10.5 for loss and five sacks a year ago.
The defensive line also welcomes back Zach Kutzera, whose 11 tackles for loss highlighted his high‑motor presence, while Gavin Constantine and Landon Hoover provide depth and college‑level interest on both offense and defense. Junior quarterback Wyatt Jones, who led the JV squad last year, is slated to start, though Coach Dan DeGeorge hints at a possible shared snap role with Ty DeGeorge, adding an exciting dynamic to the offense.
Strategic Vision and Schedule
Coach Dan DeGeorge, now in his 14th season with a career record of 82‑60, emphasizes the team's balanced mix of size, strength and athleticism, aiming to deploy spread formations and two‑back sets throughout the year. The schedule features six home games against opponents such as North Ridgeville, Boardman, Rocky River, Perry, Glenoak, Jackson, McKinley, Hoover and Green, culminating in a historically significant showdown with Louisville in Week 6 that DeGeorge hopes will become a permanent fixture.
Beyond the field, the senior class is described by DeGeorge as a "great group of leaders" and "student‑athletes," setting a cultural tone that the program hopes to sustain.
