The Lake Blue Streaks will begin their 2026 high school football season on August 21, marking the start of a campaign that could reshape the team’s trajectory after a 7‑4 finish a year ago.
Last season the Blue Streaks posted a 7‑4 record, highlighted by wins over South Range, Boardman, Rocky River, Perry, GlenOak and Northwest, while dropping games to Jackson, Canton McKinley and Green.
Division II, Region 7 and the road ahead
Competing in Division II, Region 7, the squad will face a slate of opponents that includes North Ridgeville, Boardman, Rocky River, Perry, GlenOak, Louisville, Jackson, Canton McKinley, Hoover and Green, each game shaping their postseason hopes.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association state playoffs are slated to open on October 30, 2026, with the championship games scheduled for December 3‑5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, providing a clear roadmap toward the ultimate goal.
Among the season’s marquee matchups, the early‑season clash with North Ridgeville will test the team’s readiness, while later contests against traditional rivals such as Hoover and Green could prove decisive in the race for playoff seeding.
Head coach Mike Daniels emphasized the importance of consistency, noting that the team’s performance in the 2025 playoffs, where they fell to Hudson in the Division II bracket, serves as both a lesson and motivation for the upcoming year.
