A Milestone Season for Lamar Football
Lamar University has announced the kickoff times for all six of its home games at Provost Umphrey Stadium during the 2026 season. The first contest is set for August 29 at 6 p.m., when the Cardinals host Abilene Christian. Subsequent home games will be spread across October and November, giving fans a staggered slate of matchups.
Head coach Pete Rossomando, now in his fourth year at the helm, has guided the team to three consecutive winning seasons and an FCS national playoff appearance in 2025. Under his leadership, the program has built momentum heading into a campaign that includes nine conference opponents out of a 12‑game schedule.
Beyond the on‑field ambitions, the university has secured a broadcast partnership that will stream every home game on ESPN+, ensuring that supporters both locally and afar can follow the action in real time.
With the goal of capturing the Southland Conference championship and reclaiming a spot in the national playoffs, the Cardinals are poised to turn the upcoming season into a defining chapter for the program.
