Tennessee baseball is set to resume its regular‑season finale against Oklahoma at 2 p.m. ET on May 16, a game that will determine the final standings before the SEC Tournament begins on May 19.
A Pitcher's Pause
Sophomore left‑hander Landon Mack will miss his second consecutive start after the team diagnosed him with arm soreness. Coach Josh Elander described the issue as day‑to‑day, leaving the Vols to consider alternatives for the Oklahoma matchup.
Mack’s most recent outing against Kentucky on April 26 was a strong effort, throwing more than 100 pitches, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six batters. Overall this season he holds a 4.67 ERA over 61.2 innings, having started 12 games after transferring from Rutgers.
Looking Ahead
The Vols have not yet announced a replacement in the rotation, and the coaching staff says the decision will be made as the week progresses. Meanwhile, the team remains focused on preserving momentum heading into the SEC Tournament, where their performance could influence national seeding.
