A Fresh Face in Charlotte
Latrell Wrightsell Jr., who capped his college career with a standout season at Alabama, has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Charlotte Hornets, a move that comes after he went undrafted in the recent NBA draft.
During his final year with the Crimson Tide, Wrightsell averaged 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, helping the team to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, one of which culminated in a Final Four run in 2023.
His signing also marks a reunion with former teammate Labaron Philon, who was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers, and with Brandon Miller, the 2023 first‑round pick who now shares the same locker room in Charlotte.
The Hornets’ front office highlighted the value of Wrightsell’s experience in high‑stakes games, noting that his ability to perform under pressure could prove vital as the franchise looks to build on its recent progress.
Edge Sports International, the agency representing Wrightsell, has been active in navigating the player’s transition from college to the professional ranks, underscoring the growing influence of sports management firms in shaping NBA trajectories.
