A Strategic Addition to the Roster
Manhattan University announced the signing of Laura Ring, a New Zealand‑born forward who will join the program for the 2026‑27 campaign. Ring’s arrival follows a two‑year stint at Central Wyoming College, where she honed her game in the NJCAA and quickly became a key contributor.
During her sophomore season, Ring posted a career‑high 27 points against Gillette College while playing the full 40 minutes, shooting 10‑for‑19 from the field. Across her collegiate career she averaged 12.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per game, earning All‑Region honors for her consistent performances.
Head Coach Heather Vulin praised the new recruit, highlighting Ring’s toughness, versatility and ability to stretch the floor. "Laura brings a unique mix of skill sets that align perfectly with our vision for the program," Vulin said in the official announcement.
Ring’s international background adds a global dimension to the squad, complementing the university’s broader ambition to recruit talent from diverse regions. Her experience in New Zealand’s competitive leagues is expected to enrich the team’s tactical flexibility and depth.
