A Season to Remember
Lauren Hemann, a junior who plays both midfield and defense for Holton-Arms School, has been crowned the Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year, a distinction that highlights her impact on the field and in the community.
Impact on the Field
During the recent campaign she recorded seven goals and nine assists, contributions that helped the Panthers advance to the Independent School League tournament semifinals. Her blend of vision and tenacity was on full display as she orchestrated play and anchored the back line.
International Experience
Hemann’s achievements extended beyond club play. In the summer of 2025 she earned a spot on the U.S. Soccer Under‑17 Women’s National Team for the Four Nations Cup, and earlier this year she attended a training camp with the U‑18 national side in April, experiences that have broadened her international exposure.
Academic and Athletic Future
Off the field, Hemann maintains a weighted 4.05 GPA, underscoring her commitment to academic excellence. She has verbally committed to join Stanford University’s soccer program beginning in the fall of 2027, a move that will bring her talents to the Pac‑12 powerhouse.
Statewide Recognition
The Gatorade Player of the Year program selects a state winner from each of the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., across 12 sports, making Hemann’s honor a reflection of both individual brilliance and the growing competitiveness of girls’ soccer in Maryland.
