Lawrence Post 414 Secures 10-5 Victory Over Hamilton
Lawrence Post 414 improved to 2-0 in the Mercer County American Legion League with a 10-5 win over Hamilton on Tuesday night, a performance that keeps them firmly in second place with two games remaining.
Right‑hander Joe Lech, an 18‑year‑old left‑hander from Notre Dame High, earned his first win of the summer, throwing solidly into the later innings while his teammates rallied around his effort.
The offensive onslaught was led by Josh Vichroski, who went 3‑for‑4 with a double, a triple and a run scored, helping fuel an 11‑hit attack.
Ben Nitti, a 16‑year‑old junior at Steinert High, contributed two hits and drove in a run with a double in the fifth inning, underscoring the youthful depth on the roster.
Lawrence will host North Hamilton on Thursday before traveling to face Hightstown Post 148 on Friday, while Hamilton’s lone remaining game is a home contest against Princeton Post 218 on Thursday.
With the win, the Lawrence squad remains in second place in the MCALL, just behind the league leaders, and looks to maintain momentum as the district qualifiers loom.
