Miami Hockey announced this week that forward Layne Loomer will join the RedHawks' program for the 2026‑27 season, a move confirmed by head coach Anthony Noreen.
A Promising Arrival
Loomer, a native of Lethbridge, Alberta, brings a blend of skill and leadership that aligns with the team's ambitions.
During the 2025‑26 campaign he recorded 72 points (30‑42‑72) in 59 games for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, finishing third in league scoring.
He contributed 12 points (5‑7‑12) across eight playoff games and served as the Stars' assistant captain, earning a finalist nod for the Gaudreau Award.
Loomer's international résumé includes a gold medal with Canada West at the 2023 World Junior A Challenge and a spot on the AJHL (South) All‑Rookie Team in 2022‑23.
Prior to his USHL stint he spent two seasons with the Blackfalds Bulldogs of the AJHL, where he posted 40 points in back‑to‑back campaigns and acted as assistant captain.
Coach Noreen highlighted Loomer's work ethic and offensive versatility, stating that his experience will be a valuable asset as the RedHawks aim to contend in the upcoming season.
Fans can expect a dynamic presence on the ice, and the organization looks forward to integrating Loomer into the fabric of Miami Hockey.
