LC State Women's Basketball announced the addition of Taren Bateman to its 2027 recruiting class, a move that promises to bolster the Warriors' offensive firepower and depth.
Bateman posted an average well above 19 points per game this season and recorded a 21.2-point per contest mark last year, honors that include Intermountain League MVP, All-Intermountain League and All-State recognitions, underscoring her reputation as one of the region's most potent scorers.
Her athletic profile extends beyond basketball; she has competed in track and field, contributing to her volleyball team's state qualification, while also participating in the long jump and sprint medley relay, and she has logged extensive experience on the top-tier Meta hoops AAU circuit, where she faced elite competition across the country.
Coach's Praise
Coach Caelyn Orlandi described Bateman as embodying the qualities of past Warrior greats, highlighting her athleticism, strength and a pull-up jump shot that makes her extremely difficult to guard, and added that she will be a fun and valuable player to watch.
She joins June Fiander, Makenna Klitzke and Elise Kingston in the 2027 signing class, and her combination of scoring prowess, versatility, academic strength and competitive drive is expected to make an immediate impact on the court and within the Warrior community.
