Leah Nalichowski, a junior forward at Bloomfield Hills Marian, erupted for three goals in the recent semifinal, propelling her team into the state championship match for the first time since 2024.
A Season of Reinvention
After stepping away from her club commitments to concentrate on academics and high school soccer, Nalichowski returned to the Mustangs with a renewed focus that has translated into 30 goals and 15‑16 assists this season.
Coach Danny Price, who had been eager to see her back on the pitch, greeted her arrival as a turning point for a squad that had been building momentum all year.
Championship Showdown
The Mustangs will now meet Hudsonville Unity Christian in the title game, a clash that pits two of the state’s most disciplined programs against each other.
Huron coach Matt Lividini, whose team fell short in the semifinal, praised his players’ effort and highlighted the resilience they displayed despite the loss.
Marian’s pursuit of a tenth state title carries added weight after a previous defeat to Spring Lake, fueling a determination that could reshape the program’s legacy.
