Lehi Girls Soccer Poised for Breakout Season
The Lehi High School girls soccer team is gearing up for a promising campaign as the new season kicks off in early August, with high hopes of making a deep run in the state playoffs.
Head coach Jonas Hartmann brings a confident outlook, emphasizing the breadth of talent across the roster and the team's versatility on the field.
Key contributors include junior midfielder Aly Badger, who anchored the midfield with two goals and three assists last year while also providing solid defensive work, and senior wing player Ashley Gardner, whose three assists helped fuel the attack.
Junior striker Lillie Watson, the team's standout from last season, returns after a standout performance that placed her second in Region 3 scoring and tenth in Class 6A points, and she will be a central figure in the offense.
The schedule opens with a road test against Bountiful on August 4 at 7:15 p.m., followed by a home opener versus Riverton on August 6 at 3:30 p.m., and a quick turnaround against Orem the next day at 11 a.m.
Region 3 promises tough competition, with coach Hartmann noting that most matches are likely to be decided by a single goal, reflecting a tightly contested league landscape.
Lehi aims to stay competitive against traditional rivals such as Syracuse, Davis and Lone Peak, while also navigating a challenging home Region 3 opener against Skyridge on September 1 at 3:30 p.m.
Beyond the regular season, the team hopes to translate its depth and experience into a strong showing at the state playoffs, where the ultimate goal is a championship run.
