Levi Clark, the Tennessee Volunteers’ standout outfielder, will be back for a third year in 2027, giving the program a major boost as it looks to build on recent successes.
During his first two seasons he posted a .261 batting average with 23 home runs and 78 RBIs, while his conference slate showed a marked improvement to .292/.383/.646 across 27 SEC games.
The Vols also retain a core of pitchers — Cam Appenzeller, Landon Mack, Jackson Estes, Chandler Day, Will Haas and Nic Abraham — who all confirmed their returns, complementing the offensive pieces.
Coach Josh Elander’s inaugural season ended with a 38‑22 record, a 15‑15 mark in SEC play and signature series wins over top‑10 opponents such as Mississippi State and Texas.
Looking ahead
With Clark’s bat, a fortified pitching staff and a recruiting class that included the No. 36 overall prospect from Marietta, Georgia, expectations are high for the Volunteers to contend for a regional title and beyond.
The team’s postseason run concluded in the Chapel Hill Regional, marking the seventh straight year the Volunteers have earned a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Tennessee also stood alone as the only program nationwide to finish unbeaten in midweek games at 14‑0, a testament to the depth of the squad.
