LeVonte Allen, a Davis High School graduate and former state champion, has been appointed as the new girls basketball coach at West Valley High School. His hiring marks a return to the program for a coach who previously led Naches Valley to a state tournament appearance and a South Central Athletic Conference title.
A Legacy of Success and a Vision for the Future
Allen spent three seasons at Naches Valley, where he guided the team to the state tournament in 2025 and secured a conference championship. His tenure was defined by a coaching philosophy that emphasizes unity, selflessness, and collective responsibility, principles he says were forged during his own championship experience as a player.
He will replace Lorenzo Juarez, who compiled a 24‑19 record over two seasons at West Valley. Juarez’s departure opens the door for Allen to bring his proven leadership and player‑first approach to a program that last reached the state tournament in 2008.
Allen is eager to work with a talented junior class that includes standout players such as Laiken Hill, a Saint Martin's University guard who helped West Valley pull off an upset victory in 2024. The new coach believes the blend of experienced seniors and emerging talent positions the Eagles to compete strongly in the CBBN league.
Beyond the X's and O's, Allen hopes to instill a culture that mirrors the camaraderie he experienced in high school. He envisions practices where every player feels valued, and where the collective goal outweighs individual accolades, a mindset he believes will translate into sustained success on the court.
The appointment has been welcomed by school officials and community members alike, who see Allen’s deep roots in the region and his proven track record as a catalyst for revitalizing the girls basketball program. With the support of the administration and the backing of local fans, Allen looks forward to building a competitive, cohesive team that honors the school’s rich athletic heritage.
