Liberty University’s men’s basketball program has once again been celebrated for its dedication to scholarly achievement, as the National Association of Basketball Coaches highlighted the team’s academic prowess alongside individual player honors.
Academic Excellence Recognized
Six members of the squad were named to the NABC Honors Court, a distinction reserved for athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Each of them brings a distinct academic profile, from a 3.89 GPA to a 3.23 GPA, underscoring the program’s balance of athletics and scholarship.
The team also secured the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the eighth consecutive year, a testament to the program’s consistent performance in the classroom. This marks one of only three institutions in Conference USA to receive the honor this season.
Beyond the numbers, the recognition reflects a culture that values intellectual growth as much as athletic competition. Coaches and administrators attribute the sustained success to structured academic support, mentorship and a shared commitment to lifelong learning.
