Lincoln High School in Tacoma has quickly become a hotspot for college recruiters, as its sophomore basketball standouts begin receiving multiple scholarship offers ahead of their junior season.
Early Offers Flood In
Davion Shareef-Dulaney, a 6‑foot‑3 guard celebrated as The News Tribune’s 2026 All‑Area player of the year, has already secured commitments from West Virginia, the University of Washington, Utah and several other programs. His impressive freshman and sophomore stats — averaging 22.5 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals — have positioned him among the state’s top guards.
Justus Holt, a 6‑foot‑5 forward with a reputation for raw potential, earned a notable offer from the University of Virginia, an ACC powerhouse. Lincoln’s head coach, Ryan Rogers, described the Virginia invitation as “special,” emphasizing the strategic focus on developing Holt’s outside shooting to unlock his full capabilities.
Championship Ambitions
Both players were instrumental in guiding Lincoln to the Class 3A state championship game last winter, and the coaching staff is channeling that experience into a renewed drive for a title this season. With a blend of elite talent and targeted skill development, the team aims to translate early recruitment interest into on‑court dominance.
