The upcoming showdown will pit Lincoln against Barrington in a winner‑take‑all contest scheduled for Friday, a rematch that promises another tightly contested battle for the state’s bragging rights.
Coach Kevin Greene emphasized that the team’s ability to deliver big hits with runners on base has been the defining factor throughout the tournament.
The offensive surge began early, with Jackson Lockhart opening the first inning with a single to left, followed by Hugo Fiero’s base hit through the middle and Milo Sheridan’s six‑pitch walk that loaded the bases.
John Rattigan then sparked the scoring with a two‑RBI double to left, and Lincoln added two more runs in the second and third frames, including a wild pitch and a single by Luca Martinelli that pushed the lead further.
Reliever Tucker Choiniere steadied the game by throwing 38 pitches in relief, escaping a fourth‑inning bases‑loaded jam and preserving the advantage.
Ryder Norman closed out the contest with a sacrifice fly to right, sealing the victory and setting the stage for the final.
Greene noted that the team’s resilience and execution under pressure will be crucial when they meet Barrington again, as they must win twice to claim the championship.
