The 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award has been bestowed upon Lindenwood University’s beach volleyball squad, acknowledging its outstanding academic performance during the spring semester.
The team posted a collective grade point average of 3.54, and six of its members earned flawless 4.0 GPAs, underscoring a culture where athletic ambition and scholarly rigor coexist.
Four Years of Excellence
This marks the fourth straight year that Lindenwood has been honored with the AVCA academic distinction, a streak that reflects the program’s consistent emphasis on balancing competition with classroom achievement.
Leadership Praise
AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon lauded the dedication of both coaches and student‑athletes, stating that their commitment to excellence in the classroom mirrors their drive on the sand.
The AVCA, which represents more than 10,000 coaches across collegiate, professional, high school, club and youth levels, continues to champion volleyball through leadership, advocacy and professional development, reinforcing the sport’s growing emphasis on holistic success.
