Lindenwood Lions’ Season Ends in 4-3 Elimination Loss to Little Rock

Relief pitcher Easton Rakers delivers strong outing as Lions rally late but fall short

A Late Surge Falls Short

The 2026 season for the Lindenwood Lions concluded with a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in an elimination showdown. Little Rock struck first, plating two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, highlighted by a timely double from Angel Cano that set the tone for the Razorbacks.

Lindenwood answered with a flurry of hits, finishing the game with six knocks, led by Matt Graf and Charlie Isom-McCall, each collecting two hits. Relief pitcher Easton Rakers stepped in and delivered a stellar two-inning stretch, surrendering just one run on two hits while striking out five batters, keeping the Lions within striking distance.

The turning point arrived in the top of the seventh when Sam Driscoll launched a three-run homer, pulling Lindenwood to within a run and igniting hopes of a comeback. Nolan Freund had earlier driven in a run with an RBI single in the fifth, but the Lions could not find the tying run in their final two at-bats.

The loss caps a 30-28 overall record for the Lions, ending a season marked by resilience and late-game heroics. Will Geary, Jake Radosevich, Cooper Chaplain and the rest of the roster gave their all, but the early lead proved decisive.
