Lions Secure Seventh Series Victory
The University of North Alabama baseball squad improved to seven series wins this season, downing Austin Peay State University 6-1 in a commanding display of pitching and hitting.
Sophomore right‑hander Tripp Patterson delivered his sixth quality start of the year, tossing six shutout innings while fanning six batters and inducing a dozen swinging strikes.
Veteran catcher Kelly Crumpton called the game's pitches, guiding Patterson through a disciplined approach, while freshman reliever Luke Davenport kept the pressure off the bullpen in the later frames.
North Alabama’s defense was equally sharp, turning ten fly balls into outs, highlighted by a spectacular diving catch from outfielder Nash Rippen that halted a potential rally.
Offensive Firepower
The Lions erupted for a season‑high six doubles, with veterans Wes Walker and Will Millard each contributing a pair. Millard paced the offense with three hits, three RBIs and a pair of doubles, driving in crucial runs during the middle innings.
Tyler LePage, Westmoreland, Bryant Loving and Ryker Walton also chipped in timely hits, underscoring the depth of the lineup as the team looks to finish the regular season strong.
