The Living Sisu Hockey League (LSHL) is gearing up for its 2026 summer season, bringing a high‑profile lineup of players to the ice in Montreal. The league, which has positioned itself as a showcase for elite women's hockey, will feature a blend of Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) veterans, NCAA standouts and Olympic champions.
A Star‑Studded Lineup
Among the newest acquisitions are Emma Maltais and Jessie Eldridge, who join the Montreal Victoire alongside Laura Stacey and Abby Roque. Their additions underscore the league's intent to field a competitive roster that draws from both domestic talent and collegiate excellence.
The roster also includes Olympians Nadia Mattivi and Alice Philbert. Mattivi, who captained Italy's national team, continues to represent the Montreal Victoire, while Philbert, a key goaltender for France, signed with PWHL Detroit this offseason.
Adding depth between the pipes, Eve Gascon, the Minnesota‑Duluth netminder, will compete after earning a silver medal with Canada at the 2025 World Championship. Her presence is expected to bolster the league's defensive reputation.
Season Opener and Outlook
The inaugural matches will pit Team Living Sisu against Team Manmade, followed by a clash between Team Remi Card Trader and Team LiveBarn. With 14 players boasting PWHL experience and four first‑time free agents, the league aims to set a new standard for visibility and competitiveness in women's professional hockey.
