The University of New Mexico’s men’s basketball program has locked in ten of the fourteen non‑conference matchups it will play during the 2026‑27 season, a slate that blends home‑court tests with road trips to neutral sites.
Head coach Mike Davis, a veteran of Division I sidelines, will oversee a schedule that was largely assembled by assistant coach Mike Roberts, who has taken charge of the day‑to‑day planning.
Among the confirmed dates is a home game against Mississippi Valley State on November 25, a meeting with a Southwestern Athletic Conference program that finished near the bottom of the NCAA’s NET and KenPom rankings last year.
The Lobos will also travel to two neutral‑court venues in December, facing Boise State and Oregon State on back‑to‑back weekends, while two exhibition contests in October will give the team a chance to fine‑tune before the regular season begins.
Roberts noted that four more non‑conference opponents remain to be announced, with the most likely candidates being Eastern or Western New Mexico, though no official agreements have been reached.
The rest of the non‑conference slate includes contests against Utah State, St. Mary’s, Santa Clara and Wichita State, programs that regularly contend for NCAA tournament berths and help bolster the Lobos’ résumé.
