Local Man Arrested on Federal Child Pornography Charge

Former youth soccer referee Kristopher Ambrozewicz faces federal charges as his former employer pledges a policy review

A 35‑year‑old man from Athol, Massachusetts, Kristopher Ambrozewicz, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a federal search warrant uncovered evidence of child sexual abuse material on his electronic devices.

Ambrozewicz had previously served as a youth soccer referee and referee assigner for the North Quabbin United Soccer Club, and he also worked part‑time at CHD Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, providing care to youth and adults.

Club’s Response and Policy Review

The North Quabbin United Soccer Club issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to player safety, noting that all volunteers undergo CORI background checks and SafeSport training, and announcing that it will conduct a thorough review of its policies to add further safeguards.

Ambrozewicz has been removed from all club duties and is scheduled to appear before a federal judge in Worcester on August 14 for arraignment.
