A Texas Defensive Back Chooses the Wildcats
Logan Davis, a 6‑foot‑1, 181‑pound defensive back from Fort Bend Ridge Point, Texas, revealed his commitment to Kansas State on May 31. He shared the news on Instagram shortly after stepping onto the Manhattan campus for an official visit, a move that capped a recruitment cycle that had been moving quickly.
Davis, who also excels on the track, posted a 21.5‑second 200‑meter dash, underscoring his athletic versatility. The offer from the Wildcats arrived on May 12, and despite interest from UNLV, North Texas, Army, Utah State and several other programs, he elected to join the Big 12 squad.
His pledge adds to a 2027 class that already includes four‑star offensive tackle Brayden Harris, who announced his own commitment on the same weekend. Together, the two prospects help push Kansas State’s recruiting ranking to No. 30 nationally and third within the conference.
Coaches highlighted the speed of the recruitment, noting that Davis’s decision reflects the staff’s ability to attract top talent despite the class being unranked on the 247Sports Composite. The commitment also marks the 13th high‑school recruit to join the 2027 cohort, a group that sits ahead of several traditional powerhouses in the Big 12.
