Logan Nelson, a veteran forward with more than a decade of professional experience, has officially rejoined the Rapid City Rush for the 2026‑27 season, bringing his proven scoring touch back to the club that first introduced him to the ECHL.
Having spent parts of three separate stints with the Rush, Nelson now returns as the franchise’s all‑time leader in points and assists accumulated during the ECHL era, a testament to his consistency and offensive versatility.
A Milestone in the Making
The 39‑year‑old is currently 39 points shy of the 500‑point plateau in ECHL history, a benchmark that would place him among the league’s most prolific playmakers and cement his status as one of the most durable offensive forces in minor‑pro hockey.
From Rush to Rogers and Beyond
Nelson’s professional journey has taken him from the Rush’s early days in 2016‑17, through a mid‑season debut, to stints with the Tahoe Knight Monsters, Greensboro Gargoyles, and a brief spell with the Fort Wayne Komets before his latest return.
Looking Forward
Coaches and teammates alike expect the forward to mentor younger players while contributing his trademark blend of speed and hockey IQ, aiming to help the Rush contend for a playoff berth and perhaps push him closer to that historic 500‑point mark.
