Logan Pawloski Takes the Helm of Novi Football
Logan Pawloski’s ascent within Novi’s football program reached a decisive moment when the school board announced his promotion to head coach, filling the vacancy left by Jim Sparks’ departure after nearly two decades at the helm.
Pawloski, who had served as an assistant under Sparks since 2021, was selected after a thorough review by a committee that included Hall of Famer Tim Wooer, whose endorsement carried significant weight in the decision.
The new head coach inherits a roster that has already demonstrated resilience, having posted a 25‑24 record over the past five seasons and reached the playoffs four times, a testament to the culture Sparks cultivated.
What sets Pawloski apart is his commitment to continuity; he has pledged to retain the entire coaching staff, including offensive coordinator Ty Sparks and defensive coordinator Zach Hauk, while also bringing in 2021 graduate Tommy Phimister to fill the offensive line coach role.
Beyond the sidelines, Pawloski’s personal ties to the community run deep. His wife, Marissa Pawloski, works within the Novi Community School District and graduated from Novi High School in 2016, underscoring a family investment in the district’s educational fabric.
Having played two seasons at Hope College before transferring to Grand Valley State University, Pawloski’s own collegiate experience was shaped by mentors such as Irv Sigler at Grand Rapids Union and Wyoming, experiences he now hopes to translate into his own leadership style.
The transition also marks a symbolic shift, as this summer will be the first in 33 years that Jim Sparks will not be part of a team camp, a change that both he and Pawloski acknowledge with a mixture of nostalgia and anticipation.
