Logan Shore, a right‑handed pitcher who wore the orange and blue from 2014 to 2016, has been selected for the 2026 University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame. His induction will take place at a banquet on October 9, the evening before the Gators' homecoming showdown with South Carolina.
A Dominant College Career
During his three‑year stint with the Gators, Shore helped the team reach the College World Series in both 2015 and 2016. He finished his career ranked second in school history for wins with 30 and seventh for strikeouts with 248. Opponents batted just .231 against him, underscoring his dominance on the mound.
Honors and Recognition
Shore's excellence earned him multiple conference accolades, including SEC Freshman of the Year in 2014 and SEC Pitcher of the Year in 2016. That same year he also became a Golden Spikes Award finalist, a testament to his national impact. His 2016 season featured a 12‑1 record and a 2.31 ERA, complemented by 95 strikeouts.
Beyond the statistics, Shore's career was marked by consistency and leadership. He posted a 7‑4 record with a 2.16 ERA as a freshman, striking out 68 batters, and followed that with a breakout sophomore campaign that set the stage for his senior year heroics.
A Class of Legends
The 2026 Hall of Fame class will also honor gymnastics star Bridget Sloan, swimmer Kelsey Stewart, baseball alumni Vernon Maxwell, Andrew Moten, and track athlete Vernon Hargreaves III. Together, they represent a legacy of excellence across Florida's athletic spectrum.
