Long Beach Poly Begins Search for New Baseball Coach

School aims to replace Soloman Williams as returning talent eyes 2027 season

Long Beach Poly is currently searching for a new head baseball coach following the departure of Soloman Williams, who led the Jackrabbits for the past two seasons. Williams compiled a 32‑26 record, guiding the team to a third‑place finish in the 2025 season and a fourth‑place league standing this year. The Jackrabbits reached the CIF‑SS quarterfinals last year, though they were eliminated in the second round this season.

Despite the coaching change, Poly can look forward to a strong core of returning players who are expected to carry the program into the 2027 campaign.

A New Chapter for Poly Baseball

Prospective coaches are asked to email athletic director Rob Shock with a letter of interest, a résumé and three professional references. The school is seeking candidates who have experience at the high school level or higher.

The administration hopes the new hire will continue the momentum built over recent years and steer the Jackrabbits toward deeper playoff runs.
