Longwood Soccer Players Shine in Big South Preseason Watch List

Five Lancers recognized ahead of the 2026 season as conference prepares to announce Players of the Year

The Big South Conference announced its 2026 preseason watch list, spotlighting standout student‑athletes from across the league. Among the 29 players named, five represent Longwood University, underscoring the program’s growing presence.

Preseason Watch List Highlights

Senior midfielder Aristhid Kamdjin joins the list after starting 24 of 27 appearances over the past two seasons, establishing himself as a pivotal figure in the Lancers’ midfield.

The highlight, however, is senior forward Brando Bedolla, a 2025 All‑Big South Second Team selection who led the team with 18 points from six goals and six assists. Bedolla’s knack for finding the net and setting up teammates placed him among nine forwards recognized for their offensive impact.

Joining Bedolla on the forward group is sophomore Mesfin Roda, a Barcelona native who transferred after stints at Milwaukee and Florida Atlantic. Roda earned All‑Horizon League Third Team honors in 2024 and brings 44 collegiate appearances to the Lancers’ attack.

Ezrah Serralde, another senior midfielder, contributed seven points with two goals and three assists in the 2025 campaign, finishing strong in the final three games. Freshman defender Benjamin Ferrero also earned recognition, collecting All‑Big South honorable mention and All‑Freshman Team honors after starting 11 of 12 matches.

The preseason accolades precede the announcement of the conference’s Players of the Year in offensive, midfield, defensive and goalkeeper categories, scheduled for August 12, 2026. The upcoming awards will further spotlight the talent that the Lancers bring to the Big South.
