A Humble Addition to the Lancer Staff
Longwood University has announced the hiring of Connor Piskin as its new Director of Basketball Operations, a move that underscores the program’s commitment to blending expertise with a service‑oriented culture.
Head Coach Ronnie Thomas praised Piskin’s humility, noting that “his selfless mindset aligns perfectly with the values we strive to embody on and off the court.”
Piskin arrives after a stint at Southern Illinois University‑Edwardsville (SIUE), where he contributed to a 39‑win season and an NCAA tournament appearance, culminating in a record‑breaking campaign that saw the team finish with 22 victories and a national tournament berth.
Prior to SIUE, Piskin honed his skills at Frank Phillips College, navigating the junior college ranks before pursuing a master’s degree in higher education at SIUE.
Expressing enthusiasm for the new role, Piskin said he is eager to “support Coach Thomas’s mission” and to become an integral part of the Longwood community, bringing both his operational acumen and a collaborative spirit.
His career began as a student manager at SIUE from 2021 to 2023 while completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and earlier he served as an undergraduate manager at Lincoln Land College from 2019 to 2021.
