Longwood Women's Soccer Unveils 2026 Campaign
Coach Todd Dyer, who leads the Longwood women's soccer program, has just made the 2026 schedule public, giving fans a clear view of what lies ahead.
The upcoming season features a balanced mix of nine home contests at the Longwood Athletic Complex and eight away tests, setting up a challenging non‑conference slate before the team dives into Big South play.
The campaign begins with two exhibition matches, starting on the road at Liberty before the team hosts William & Mary a few days later.
The first official game is scheduled for August 13 against Campbell, a former Big South rival, marking the start of a rigorous slate of competition.
Following the opener, the Lancers embark on a three‑game road stretch that takes them to Old Dominion, American University and the Virginia Military Institute.
Longwood will close August with a home contest against East Tennessee State, a program that reached the Sun Belt championship game the previous season.
September begins with a trip to Richmond, the team's Commonwealth rival, before a five‑match home stretch that includes the opening Big South fixtures against High Point and USC Upstate.
During that stretch the Lancers also face Hampton, George Mason and UMBC, while a road game at Winthrop awaits at month’s end.
October features a series of away tests at UNC Asheville, Presbyterian and Gardner‑Webb, sandwiching a home meeting with rival Radford.
The Big South Championship is slated for November, with the top six teams advancing to the conference tournament; the top two seeds receive first‑round byes, and the quarterfinals will be played on November 5, followed by the semifinals and finals later in the month.
