A Season of Inclusion
Throughout June the Los Angeles Kings have turned Pride Month into a platform for amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, weaving together a network of partnerships and public events that reflect the franchise’s dedication to diversity and belonging.
A centerpiece of the effort is a collaboration with Rainbow Labs, a nonprofit that provides career‑exploration opportunities for youth. During a recent home game, ten students from Rainbow Labs met with Kings staff and participated in a hands‑on “Sports Lab” session that introduced 75 LAUSD students to the fundamentals of ball hockey.
The Kings also extended their support to the Coachella Valley LGBT Hockey Association, sponsoring its annual tournament that offers inclusive hockey opportunities for LGBTQ+ players across the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs region.
Community Impact
Beyond the rink, the organization sponsored the West Hollywood Holiday Ice Rink and announced plans to march in the WeHo Pride Parade this summer, further cementing its presence in local LGBTQ+ celebrations.
Fans looking to contribute can purchase Pride‑themed player gear from the Kings Care Foundation’s online store, with proceeds directed toward the team’s inclusive initiatives.
These actions underscore the Kings’ broader mission to create welcoming environments for fans, players, and community members alike, reinforcing the belief that sport can be a powerful catalyst for social inclusion.
