Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Bolster 2027 Roster with Four Transfer Additions

Newcomers bring experience and depth as the program reshapes for upcoming season

Louisiana's baseball program is set for a significant overhaul ahead of the 2027 season, with the addition of four new transfers set to reshape the squad.

A strategic infusion of talent

Micah Kendrick, Kendall Dove, Manny Salas and Griffin Miller join the Ragin' Cajuns, bringing a blend of hitting prowess, pitching depth and recent collegiate success.

Salas, who earned second‑team All‑Sun Belt honors at Texas State, arrives with one year of eligibility remaining, while Dove posted a 4‑1 record and 6.70 ERA at UTSA and also has a year left. Kendrick batted .290 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 2026 and will have two more seasons of eligibility.

Miller, who missed the entire 2026 campaign due to a rotator‑cuff tear, has fully recovered and will contribute depth to the pitching staff, also retaining two years of eligibility.

The moves bring the program's transfer class to twelve players and the overall roster to thirty‑two athletes, underscoring an aggressive recruitment strategy.

At the same time, nine current roster members have entered the NCAA transfer portal, a development that reflects both the competitive landscape and the program's evolving personnel dynamics.

Looking ahead

Coach Matt Deggs will integrate the newcomers into a schedule that includes matchups against traditional rivals such as Kansas State, UTSA and Texas State, while also facing familiar foes like Marshall and Texas State's Bobcats.

The Ragin' Cajuns hope the added experience and depth will translate into stronger performances in the Sun Belt Conference and improve their prospects for postseason play.
