The Louisiana Sports Writers Association has unveiled its 2026 Class 2A All-State baseball and softball teams, recognizing the standout performances of high school athletes across the state.
MVP and Coach Honors
Kiette Cooper of Jena earned the Most Outstanding Player award in softball after a dominant season that included a 23-5 record, a 1.08 ERA and 332 strikeouts over 175⅓ innings, while also batting .344 with five home runs and 30 RBIs.
Jeff Tannehill of Sterlington was named Coach of the Year, having led his squad to the Division III non-select championship this spring.
All-State Selections
Additional All-State selections from the region include Jaleeyah Alford, Sullivan Cannon and Ansley Johnson of Sterlington, Callie Decker of Jena, and several players from Caldwell Parish who earned honors in both baseball and softball. The Lady Panthers, who have captured two LHSAA titles in three seasons, continue to showcase the depth of talent in the classification.
